Le Magnifique...Le Touquet!

IMG_8137.JPG

If you want to be astonished, go to Le Touquet-the best sandy beach resort in northern France.

Literally kilometers of white sands, Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, near Boulogne-sur-Mer, has the reputation of the most elegant seaside resort in the area; the perfect playground of rich parisians and wealthy british.

A magic resort, with it’s own pace and burghese life-style. With 5.000 permanent residents it becomes busy during the full summer season, welcoming up to 250k turists.

I’m not surprised at all, considering the amazing landscapes, the luxury hotels and stylish restaurants where you can serve the best Moules (Mussels), fresh fish and traditional french specialities such as Carbonade Flamande Maison- the most delicious home cooked beef I’ve ever had. Of course, everything served with fries. Adorable!

If you enjoy walking or jogging, Le Touquet coast is the perfect place to burn all the fries and boulangerie kcalories and admire the spectacle of nature, on the same time. It can be an advantage to go there early season if you prefer a tranquille escape. I have to admit that the silence was to much for me to adjust to, at the very beginning. Afterwords, it became a blessing. Try a private picnic on a beach lagoon and shelter from the summer rain in the old watch-tower. What a romantic delight!

For the first time in my life, I have seen the sea withdrawn so far away from the shore- for more than 2k. Shocking it was to discover that It comes back to normal only 3 hours at midday. A real super-tide spectacle which allowed us and our friends to take unique and memorable pictures.

The spectacular dunes host every February "Enduro" races and also, Le Touquet hosted 4 stages of the Tour the France since the 70’s.

If you’re into tennis, golf, horse-riding, cricket, cycling- just name it and Le Touquet will delight your passions.

Walk the streets and admire the famous architecture style of the 20’s and the 30’s and you'll end up wandering why on earth you haven’t discovered this corner of Paradise earlier.

When in France, I have to admit, I totally lose my balance in front of their cuisine. I just can’t say no to all the delicious patisserie and boulangerie products. I simply can’t understand how the tall, beautiful tanned french women do it. They seem to enjoy their food and wine in such a wildly manner and still look amazing on their high-hills and mini-skirts. Must be...l’Amour... responsible for their glow!

When in Le Touquet, take some time to celebrate the little pleasures of life, such as a posh coffee at “Le Globe Trotter”, where my husband received-to my delight- a french seagull “blessing” for Bonne chance!

A daily visit to the “Boulanger Fred” it’s a must. Pop in and grab a fresh baguette in the morning and try for yourself their motto “La fidelite recompensee”.

This charming french resort really clicked with my heart and reminded me one more time that the best things in life are free. A real Bliss for the soul!

Joyeux Anniversaire, Mon Amour!

Je t’Aime!

Remember to always wander the world in style!

Love,

Corina Alexandra
